Alex & Troy’s Classic Boho Wedding at Tin Roof Barn

January 2, 2024

To put it simply, Alex and Troy are iconic. Their classic boho wedding at Tin Roof Barn blew our mind and exceeded all expectations! Immediately upon meeting up to discuss their wedding plans, we fell in love with their vision. This couple has the coolest modern-meets-boho style, and have such laid back personalities.

A huge part of their wedding day vision included finding a way to incorporate the food and drink into the overall design. Troy works in the food and beverage industry, so they wanted to find a way to elegantly display the delicious cuisine they carefully selected for their guests. We love working with couples who are in the hospitality industry because they have the coolest ideas and they totally get it. Typically, these couples have faith in the process and let the pros work their magic! Luckily, they trusted us to bring their vision to life and seamlessly facilitate their wedding day.

Their eclectic al fresco style farm-to-table wedding was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Sure there may have been a few tiny hiccups (keep reading to find out what occurred!) but regardless, we all look back on this day and chuckle. There were so many beautiful moments, funny memories, and loads of love shared among everyone.

Meet Alex and Troy

These sweethearts look into each other’s eyes in the dreamiest way, with true love and admiration for one another. They prove that true love exists. Both Alex and Troy were so proud and excited to marry one another and it was inspiring to watch them share their love. Something we admired so much about them is how highly they regard their loved ones. Quality time was spent in the morning — Alex with her girls drinking champagne and Troy with the guys smoking cigars. Everyone was basking in the moment and laughing the morning away. Wedding days like this are so much fun to be a part of!

Everyone looked absolutely incredible, their style was too good! Alex donned the most gorgeous modern wedding dress with a low V-neck and a high-leg slit. It looked absolutely incredible on her. Troy’s black tux was equally chic and stylish. The two of them together were a vision, we wouldn’t be surprised if Vogue started calling! The idea was to create a juxtaposition of modern style and design with a historic barn and bohemian setting. Watching how their style played out was such a joy, and I adore how they incorporated their unique vibe throughout the entire day.

Both Alex and Troy kept their cool leading up to the ceremony, then felt all the emotions come crashing as they locked eyes with each other at opposite ends of the aisle. These two have the kindest hearts and everyone in attendance was beyond thrilled for their union. We knew how special their love was to one another and couldn’t wait til they tied the knot!

When Food and Beverage are Part of the Design

Our couple let us know that they wanted to find a unique way to incorporate Troy’s connection to the food and beverage industry into their wedding design. Immediately, we thought about an al fresco style reception. We incorporated the food and drink into the stunning modern design of the wedding day and it was beautifully carried through the day.

Their wedding ceremony was a modern-bohemian dream. Fluffy floral columns sat at the front of the ceremony and framed Alex and Troy beautifully. The floral design incorporated neutral tones with white flowers and dried foliage, while accents of pampas grass added a whimsical touch that completed the design.

In the reception hall, the tables incorporated fresh greenery that added a softness to the modern decor. The table settings featured modern pure glassware, gold flatware, silk cloth napkins, and textured plates. The design looked beautiful against the tall wooden barn walls and was the perfect way to add a modern touch to their reception. To intertwine the food and beverage into the wedding design, Alex and Troy had the coolest wedding cake and champagne tower. There were so many fun elements that were blended into their wedding day design and we adored how seamlessly it all fit together.

A Moment To Remember

Things don’t always go perfectly smooth during the wedding day, and that’s okay! Hiccups do happen, but this particular hiccup was a funny one. As we were lining everyone up for the ceremony, Troy nervously tapped me on the shoulder and said, “the wedding band slipped into the cracks of the deck,” Yikes! We scrambled to get under the deck and secured the wedding band, problem solved! After a brief moment of fear, everyone began laughing over the potentially disastrous mishap. Troy made his way down the aisle, ring in hand, and waited to watch his stunning bride walk toward him. And friends, she looked stunning!

One of the sweetest moments during their classic boho wedding day was their golden hour bridal portrait session. While guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers we snuck these two away to capture some adorable newly-wed photos and they were breathtaking. Dusk began to fall as the sun set completely behind the trees and Alex and Troy were ready to head into reception to party the night away.
